Our client is a fast growing, 100% employee-owned consulting firm with 30+ offices across the U.S. and Canada. Since 1969, they've tackled big challenges in land development, energy, water, environment, mining, transportation, and advanced technology. Now, they’re growing their Water Management team and looking for a Principal Hydrotechnical Engineer to join their Mine Water Management team in Vancouver, BC. You’ll work alongside a tight-knit group of talented professionals across a variety of technical specialties..You’ll report to the Director of Mine Water Management and take on a mix of technical and leadership responsibilities.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead projects focused on water flow, hydraulics, and erosion control and help clients develop smart, sustainable solutions for infrastructure, environmental, and industrial projects.
  • Use CFD modeling to analyze water flow, sediment transport, and hydraulic structures.
  • Leading technical assessments for rivers, coastal systems, stormwater, and industrial water processes.
  • Developing innovative solutions for flood protection, erosion control, and water management.
  • Managing projects and mentoring junior engineers to support their growth.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to solve hydrotechnical challenges.
  • Communicating findings clearly to clients and stakeholders.

What You Bring:

  • A post-secondary degree in engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in hydrotechnical engineering, with a *very* strong focus on Computational Fluid Dynamics
  • Expertise in hydraulic modeling, fluid mechanics, and water systems.
  • Leadership skills and experience managing complex projects.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • A passion for innovation in water management.
