Job Description

Our client is a global consulting firm that has been advising the mining industry for years, helping companies, investors, and government agencies make smart decisions. They specialize in geology, mine engineering, metallurgy, and market analysis, providing independent assessments and practical solutions for successful projects.

They're looking for a very experienced geologist or mining/geotechnical engineer to help drive growth and lead complex, high-impact projects across the mining value chain. This role is ideal for someone who combines technical credibility with strong commercial instincts, and who brings a healthy, active network of industry contacts across mining companies, investors, and key stakeholders.

What You'll Do:

A. Client Development & Relationship Management:

• Use your industry network to proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities
• Lead client engagement efforts—building trust, understanding client needs, and translating them into actionable solutions
• Manage existing accounts to ensure high levels of satisfaction, long-term partnership, and repeat business
• Represent the firm at industry events and in the marketplace as a respected voice in mining
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop proposals, pitch strategies, and targeted marketing initiatives

B. Technical & Team Leadership:

• Lead and contribute to mining studies and consulting projects across the full project lifecycle—from early concept to operations
• Provide hands-on support to project teams, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective outcomes
• Guide multi-disciplinary teams and mentor junior professionals to support both technical excellence and professional growth
• Contribute to strategic planning, service innovation, and best practices within the mining group

What You'll Bring to the Table:

• A strong background in mining engineering, consulting, or operations
• Proven experience in business development and client relationship management. 
• An active, well-maintained network across the mining sector, including operators, investors, and other influencers
• A reputation for delivering smart, practical, and trusted advice
• Strong communication, leadership, and mentorship skills
• A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work across geographies and disciplines
