Our client, a mid-cap North American precious metals producer, operates across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Driven by innovation and sustainability, they're always looking for new ways to expand their reserves, deliver lasting value to shareholders, and positively impact the communities they serve. They're currently seeking a Senior Metallurgist for their flagship project in Nevada. Reporting to the Metallurgy Superintendent, this role will lead and provide technical expertise in metallurgical testing and analysis, overseeing the short and long-term performance of the Heap Leach facilities, Merrill Crowe plant, Refinery, and Crusher circuits.
What You'll Do:
- Keep things safe and follow all the rules for safety and the environment.
- Set up and handle lab tests for metallurgy stuff.
- Check out lab and operations data to see how things are going.
- Write and proofread reports to make sure they’re accurate and submitted on time.
- Plan smart schedules for loading leach pads so things run smoothly.
- Help the team set realistic short-term and long-term production goals.
- Spot issues and come up with ideas to fix and improve things.
- Jump in with engineering design and other site tasks when needed.
- Plan and run research and engineering projects.
- Lay out clear plans for projects—what’s needed, timelines, costs, and goals.
- Help build a team culture where people feel comfortable sharing ideas and feedback.
What You'll Bring:
- A degree in Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering (or a similar field).
- Around 5–7 years of relevant experience.
- Hands-on experience with things like heap leach, refineries, crushing operations, and process controls.
- A strong grasp of metallurgy and the skills to troubleshoot and improve processes.
- Great communication skills and the ability to think things through clearly.
- Precious metals processing experience? Big plus!
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database tools.
