Job Description

Our client is one of the world's leading consulting engineering firms specializing in bulk material handling systems. They’re expanding into the Vancouver area and looking for the right person to establish a new office and serve as the primary contact for local clients. In this role, you’ll report to the President in Toronto, and depending on your background, you might start with a short-term placement in the Toronto office before settling in Vancouver. Your work will be a blend of engineering (70%) and business development (30%), helping clients solve problems while building strong relationships.

What You'll Do

  • Connect with potential clients and explore business opportunities, primarily in Western Canada.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and trade shows.
  • Occasionally travel to meet clients in person. 
  • Draft project scopes and proposals. 
  • Oversee bulk material handling consulting projects to ensure smooth execution. 
  • Quickly learn and apply new bulk solids handling knowledge. 
  • Contribute to a culture of safety and teamwork.

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical, or civil engineering (advanced degrees are a plus)
  • At least five years of experience as a bulk material handling consultant
  • P.Eng. registration in British Columbia
  • A minimum of three years in a client-facing role, such as project management or business development, including site assessments
  • Strong networking and prospecting abilities
  • A self-motivated, team-oriented approach
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Passion for advancing a career in bulk material handling
  • Solid project management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
