Job Description

Chief of Staff

San Francisco, CA (Onsite 5 Days per Week) | Venture-Backed SaaS Startup

Compensation: $85,000 Base Salary | $120,000 OTE + Equity

Our client is a rapidly growing, Andreessen Horowitz-backed technology company redefining how modern businesses operate. Having established strong product-market fit and secured backing from some of the most respected investors in Silicon Valley, they are entering a critical growth phase and are seeking an exceptional Chief of Staff to work directly alongside the CEO and executive team.

This is not a traditional Chief of Staff role.

The ideal candidate will thrive at the intersection of business development, strategic operations, and executive leadership, serving as a force multiplier for the CEO while driving key growth initiatives across the company.

This position is based in San Francisco and requires an in-office presence five days per week, working closely alongside the CEO and leadership team to help drive the next stage of company growth.

The Opportunity

As Chief of Staff, you'll operate as an extension of the CEO, leading high-priority initiatives that impact revenue growth, operational execution, and strategic decision-making. You'll have visibility into every aspect of the business and work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Success, Finance, and external partners.

You'll be equally comfortable evaluating potential partnerships, preparing board materials, optimizing internal processes, and helping execute the company's most important strategic priorities.

What You'll Own

  • Partner directly with the CEO to drive execution of company-wide strategic initiatives

  • Identify, evaluate, and help close strategic partnerships, channel opportunities, and business development initiatives

  • Lead special projects that accelerate growth, improve efficiency, and unlock new revenue opportunities

  • Build and optimize operating cadences, business reviews, forecasting processes, and executive reporting

  • Analyze business performance metrics and provide actionable recommendations to leadership

  • Support fundraising, investor relations, and board preparation activities

  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives across GTM, Product, and Operations teams

  • Develop financial and operational models to support key business decisions

  • Create executive-level presentations, strategic plans, and internal communications

  • Remove obstacles that prevent teams from executing against company goals

  • Establish scalable processes and operating frameworks as the organization grows

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team on strategic priorities

You'll Be Great If You Have

  • 4-8+ years of experience in consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, business operations, strategy, business development, or a high-growth startup environment

  • Experience working directly with founders, executives, or senior leadership teams

  • Strong business development instincts with the ability to identify and cultivate strategic partnerships

  • Exceptional analytical, operational, and financial modeling skills

  • Experience managing complex cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into clear recommendations and action plans

  • Outstanding communication and executive presentation skills

  • Strong operational mindset with a track record of improving processes and driving execution

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and navigating rapidly changing priorities

  • Entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves when needed

  • High degree of business judgment, discretion, and ownership

  • Desire to build a long-term career within a fast-growing venture-backed company

Why This Opportunity

  • Work directly alongside an accomplished founder and executive team

  • Join a category-defining company backed by leading Silicon Valley investors

  • Gain exposure to company-building at a pivotal stage of growth

  • Significant influence on strategy, operations, partnerships, and growth initiatives

  • High visibility across the entire organization

  • Competitive compensation package including equity participation

  • Opportunity to grow into senior leadership roles as the company scales
