Position: Quality Engineer (Richburg, SC) 

Job Overview:
The Quality Engineer is responsible for driving product and process quality improvements while supporting manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment. This role partners closely with operations, engineering, and production teams to ensure products consistently meet customer expectations, improve manufacturing processes, and maintain compliance with quality standards. The Quality Engineer will utilize continuous improvement methodologies, statistical analysis, and quality management systems to identify opportunities, solve complex manufacturing challenges, and implement sustainable solutions.

This is a direct-hire position.


Key Responsibilities: 

• Support and maintain the plant's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure customer requirements and quality objectives are consistently achieved.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on product quality, process capability, operational efficiency, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, engineering, production, and operations to resolve quality-related issues.
• Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions using structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, and 5 Why.
• Develop and implement quality planning tools including:
o Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
o Control Plans
o Gauge Repeatability & Reproducibility (Gauge R&R)
o Statistical Process Control (SPC)
o Six Sigma methodologies
• Support containment activities and ensure effective implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Analyze quality and manufacturing data to identify trends, improve process capability, and support data-driven decision making.
• Create, maintain, and communicate quality metrics, reports, and performance dashboards.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 requirements and support internal and external quality audits.
• Promote a culture of operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives and quality best practices.
• Partner with manufacturing teams to improve product consistency, reduce defects, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Support implementation of new processes, products, and quality initiatives across the facility.

Qualifications: 
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing, quality engineering, or process improvement environment.
• Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Experience utilizing quality tools such as PFMEA, Control Plans, Gauge R&R, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience applying structured problem-solving techniques including 8D, DMAIC, and 5 Why.
• Ability to analyze data, interpret quality metrics, and develop reports to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality reporting tools.
Preferred
• Experience supporting or implementing ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Experience using statistical analysis and statistical process control (SPC).
• Experience leading cross-functional teams or improvement initiatives.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Experience within a high-volume manufacturing or industrial production environment.
