Position Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing the maintenance team and partnering with production to ensure all machinery and systems are properly serviced and operating at peak performance. This role includes developing and organizing preventative maintenance schedules, using maintenance software, coordinating materials for upcoming projects, training maintenance staff, and ensuring work is completed on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate will be capable of leading small teams, managing multiple projects, and supporting several departments. This position also includes performing hands-on maintenance work as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and schedule work orders to keep production equipment running efficiently and to reduce unplanned downtime.

Create and maintain preventative maintenance (PM) programs, including determining tasks and frequency, with input from engineering and production teams; review and update PM programs as needed.

Maintain up-to-date equipment manuals, PM logs, compliance records, and training documentation.

Establish, implement, and maintain safety, health, and environmental procedures and training.

Oversee recycling processes for waste generated from booths, hoods, and dust collection systems, including documentation and procedure management.

Lead 5S and Lean continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department and support improvement activities across production.

Recommend equipment upgrades or replacements and support planning for future growth.

Supervise all custodial activities to ensure timely and satisfactory completion.

Lead the maintenance team and cross-functional groups on improvement projects.

Conduct employee evaluations and participate in hiring and disciplinary processes.

Provide training to employees in other departments when applicable.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in Maintenance, Electrical, or related field preferred.

Minimum 5–7 years of maintenance experience; 1–2 years in a leadership role preferred.

Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

Strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, electronic, and fluid systems.

Demonstrated technical, mechanical, and electrical proficiency with equipment repair and troubleshooting.

Strong recordkeeping skills related to processes, procedures, and inventory.

Ability to assess challenging situations, problem-solve quickly, and meet production requirements.

Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization, both independently and in team settings.

Capability to operate machinery and equipment safely.

Experience with 5S/Lean, robotics programming, and PLC programming preferred.

Experience with electronic preventative maintenance systems desired.

Strong communication skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing needs.

Ability to use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
