Specialized Account Manager

Job Overview: Our Transportation client, in the Quad Cities, is seeking to add a NEW Specialized Account Manager to their team. Specialized Account Manager is responsible for dispatching and managing a dedicated group of specialized truck drivers while building strong relationships and ensuring exceptional service for both internal and external customers.

What you will be doing as a Specialized Account Manager …

  • Lead, manage, and support a team of professional CDL Class A drivers, fostering trust and respect while maintaining professionalism.

  • Dispatch drivers for customer and vendor pick-ups and deliveries, ensuring timely and accurate execution.

  • Monitor driver movements and load status to verify on-time performance.

  • Maintain accurate records in the TMS system and ensure timely communication with customers via email and phone.

  • Coordinate with customers to align with their standards and requirements.

  • Monitor load securement standards, address discrepancies, and provide coaching to drivers as needed.

  • Partner with the maintenance department to schedule necessary repairs and services.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure proper driver and customer coverage.

  • Order permits with accurate dimensions and weights; coordinate routing, pilot cars, and freight measurements.

  • Uphold core values including safety, service, positive attitude, and respect.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills you ideally bring to the table as a Specialized Account Manager …
  • General knowledge of specialized trucking and commercial motor vehicles.

  • Familiarity with oversized and overweight permits and related procedures.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).

  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Self-starter with a positive, “can-do” attitude and growth mindset.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to collaborative problem-solving.
