Shop Foreman Mechanic - 2nd shift
Job Overview: Our Transportation client, is seeking to add a NEW Shop Foreman Mechanic to their team.
The Shop Foreman provides hands-on leadership and direction to shop technicians, ensuring all repair and maintenance work is completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. As the lead technician and primary contact for daily shop operations, this role is key in coordinating workflow, supporting team development, and maintaining equipment readiness.
Success in this position requires strong technical expertise, proven leadership skills, and operational management capabilities. The Shop Foreman must excel at troubleshooting and mechanical repair, managing personnel, enforcing safe practices, and maintaining accurate documentation.
This is a Direct Hire
Lead and supervise shop technicians in daily maintenance and repair tasks.
Assign and oversee repair work orders to ensure timely, high-quality completion.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with heavy trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
Perform hands-on maintenance and repair work when needed.
Maintain a clean, safe work area and conduct inspections to ensure adherence to FMCSA, OSHA, and internal safety standards.
Keep accurate records of completed work, safety checks, and inventory.
Provide technical guidance to less experienced mechanics.
Communicate equipment status and repair needs to the Shop Manager and operations team.
Assist with onboarding and training new technicians.
Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
Perform other duties as required to meet operational and safety needs.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a diesel or heavy truck/trailer mechanic.
Prior leadership experience in a maintenance or repair shop preferred.
1+ years of experience in truck/trailer mechanics and aluminum & steel welding.
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities for diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Welding skills in aluminum and steel (preferred).
Basic computer proficiency; experience with maintenance software and Outlook a plus.
Familiarity with OSHA, FMCSA, and DOT safety regulations.
Ability to operate modern maintenance technology systems.
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
May require some local travel.

Hours you will be work as a Shop Foreman Mechanic
Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional Saturdays as needed; On-call rotation required.
