General Manager
Job Overview: Our transportation client located in Indiana is seeking a dynamic and results-driven leader to oversee operations at their Indiana dealerships. This role requires a strategic professional with a strong background in sales management, team development, and operations. This person will lead a team of employees across sales, service, parts, and finance functions, while directly managing new truck sales and supporting used truck sales in collaboration with the corporate team.
This is a Direct Hire role.
What you will be doing as a General Manager …
Lead, train, mentor, and motivate staff while fostering a high-performance culture focused on growth, accountability, and recognition.
Oversee daily dealership operations across all departments, ensuring alignment with company standards and goals.
Manage new truck sales efforts and contribute to achieving used truck sales targets in partnership with the corporate used truck manager.
Conduct structured performance reviews and establish clear, measurable goals for dealership leadership and sales teams.
Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to drive business success.
Develop and manage budgets while consistently meeting or exceeding financial targets.
Monitor market trends, analyze competitors, and identify opportunities for growth and profitability within the dealership’s market area.
Skills you ideally bring to the table as a General Manager …
Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field preferred.
In-depth knowledge of the medium and heavy-duty truck industry.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in truck dealership operations or sales management preferred.
Proven leadership and strategic planning abilities.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Solid understanding of marketing, customer service, and administrative best practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard business software.
