Job Title: Customer Service Engineer - Network
Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement, and support complex network infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a passion for optimizing performance, ensuring security, and supporting enterprise-wide connectivity. This role involves working with cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver robust, scalable, and secure network solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and deploy network infrastructure, including LANs, WANs, VPNs, and firewalls.
Install and maintain network hardware such as routers, switches, load balancers, and firewalls.
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
Implement and uphold network security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access.
Conduct network capacity planning and recommend system enhancements or upgrades.
Create and maintain accurate documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.
Collaborate with IT teams and external vendors on network-related initiatives and implementations.
Support virtualized environments by managing software-defined and traditional network infrastructure.
Stay informed on emerging networking trends, technologies, and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field—or equivalent work experience.
7+ years of experience in network engineering.
Proficiency with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, and switching technologies.
Hands-on experience with firewalls (e.g., Cisco ASA, Palo Alto) and VPNs (e.g., IPsec, SSL).
Experience administering Linux systems.
Familiarity with virtualization and container platforms such as VMware, KVM, and Docker.
Skilled in using network monitoring and management tools.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, Network+).
Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Knowledge of NAS/SAN storage networking.
Proficiency in automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible).
Understanding of network security standards and compliance requirements.
