Summary of Job:Apply paint or powder coating, to protect or decorate work piece surfaces, using spray guns. Responsible for the proper mixing of paints, selection of powder coat colors, and maintenance of the equipment used in the processes.Essential Functions:
1. Examine finished surfaces of work pieces to verify conformance to specifications; then retouch any defective areas.
2. Clean and maintain tools and equipment, using solvents, brushes, and rags.
3. Read job orders and inspect work pieces to determine work procedures and materials required.
4. Clean surfaces of work pieces in preparation for coating, using cleaning fluids, solvents, brushes, scrapers, steam, sandpaper, or cloth.
5. Rinse, drain, or wipe coated work pieces to remove excess coating material or to facilitate setting of finish coats on work pieces.
6. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment.
7. Use spray application production equipment.
8. Examine products or work to verify conformance to specifications.
9. Apply cleaning solvents.
10. Read work order, instructions, formulas, or processing charts.
11. Process and Record all pertinent information per NADCAP specifications.

Additional Functions:Operator is responsible for maintaining proper storage and use of potential hazardous materials as it relates to the finishing function. Operator will assist in maintaining inventory for the paint and powder coating, and the handling of by products produced by the finishing processes.
