A Turret Operator runs a computer-controlled turret and other machines utilized in metal fabrication process, following a specific work instruction. Position includes operation of: laser, EML, Vikings, Timesaver, punch press, shear, Fabrivision, forklift, and other machines in the turret area utilized for creating a quality part. Also includes setting up tooling for the operators and moving material.
Essential Functions:
1. Adjusts production equipment/machinery setup.
2. Cleans equipment or machinery.
3. Examines products or work to verify conformance to specifications.
4. Measures, weighs, or counts products or materials.
5. Monitors production machinery/equipment operation to detect problems.
6. Operates metal or plastic fabricating equipment/machinery.
7. Performs safety inspections in manufacturing or industrial setting.
8. Programs computer numerical controlled machines.
9. Reads blueprints.
10. Reads specifications.
11. Reads technical drawings.
12. Reads work orders, instructions, or formulas.
13. Sets up computer numerical control machines.
14. Sets up production equipment or machinery.
15. Understands machine setup instructions.
16. Uses computers to input, access or retrieve data.
17. Uses hand or power tools.
18. Uses precision measuring tools or equipment.
19. Uses Statistical Process Control Data to determine when to make machine adjustments.
20. Measure and examine extruded products in order to locate defects, and to check for conformance to specifications; adjust controls as necessary to alter products.
21. Determine setup procedures and select machine dies and parts, according to specifications.
22. Install dies, machine screws, and sizing rings on machines that extrude thermoplastic or metal materials.
23. Change dies on extruding machines according to production line changes.
24. Start machines and set controls to regulate vacuum, air pressure, sizing rings, and temperature, and to synchronize speed of extrusion.
25. Replace worn dies when products vary from specifications.
26. Reel extruded products into rolls of specified lengths and weights.
27. Troubleshoot, maintain, and make minor repairs to equipment.
28. Clean work areas.

5. Attend team meetings.
6. Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, instructions, formulas, and processing charts.
7. Monitors operation of production machinery/equipment to detect problems.
8. Examines products or work to verify conformance to specifications.
9. Participate and conduct non-conformance meetings.
