Job Title: Director of Security and Connectivity

Location: Remote (Quarterly travel to Des Moines office required; additional travel to client sites as needed)
Reports to: VP of Operations

Our client is seeking a Director of Security and Connectivity to lead their security and connectivity strategy. This individual will ensure cybersecurity, compliance, and risk mitigation across internal operations and client environments. The Director will drive IT strategies aligned with business goals, oversee data governance, and promote innovation and efficiency in client solutions. In addition, this role will lead the Security and Connectivity (S&C) division and serve as the Security Administrator for our client.


Key Responsibilities

Cybersecurity, Compliance & Risk Management

•Implement security policies and best practices to protect both internal and client environments.

•Maintain compliance with industry regulations through regular assessments and proactive monitoring.

•Address vulnerabilities and mitigate security threats effectively.

Strategic IT Leadership

•Align IT security and connectivity initiatives with business objectives.

•Identify and integrate technologies that enhance security, scalability, and efficiency.

•Support internal and client infrastructure through forward-thinking IT planning.

Data Security & Governance

•Establish and enforce data protection policies and procedures.

•Manage secure storage, access, and transmission of data.

•Ensure adherence to all relevant data privacy regulations.

Client-Focused Innovation

•Assist clients in adopting advanced security and connectivity solutions.

•Introduce automation and emerging technologies to improve IT environments.

•Provide strategic insights on cybersecurity trends and risk mitigation.

Division Growth & Development

•Build and lead a high-performing Security and Connectivity team.

•Expand service offerings and drive continuous process improvements.

•Encourage professional growth and knowledge-sharing within the division.

Security Administrator Responsibilities

•Manage security configurations, user access, and monitoring tools.

•Respond to security incidents and ensure accurate compliance records.

•Maintain and update security controls as needed.

Sales Support

•Provide technical expertise in security and connectivity to the sales team.

•Assist in client consultations and proposal development.

•Help position our client’s security services as a key value-add.

Process Management

•Maintain and enhance the S&C Core Process documentation.

•Ensure team-wide adherence to best practices and evolving protocols.

•Update procedures regularly in response to new threats and technologies.

Financial Management

•Oversee the financial performance of the S&C division.

•Monitor revenue, costs, and profitability, aligning with company goals.

•Identify opportunities for cost savings and business growth.


Qualifications

Required:

•10+ years of experience in IT security, network connectivity, or related fields, including 5+ years in a leadership role.

•Deep expertise in cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management.

•Hands-on experience with security monitoring tools.

•Strong knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2, HIPAA.

•Proficiency in firewalls, encryption, network security, and access management.

•Excellent strategic thinking, communication, and leadership skills.

•Passion for cybersecurity and team mentorship.

•Experience supporting sales teams and leading client initiatives.

Preferred Certifications:

•CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or CEH
