Senior Project Manager / Roadway Engineer

Location: Tampa, Florida

Minimum Experience: 10 years

Education: Bachelor of Civil Engineering (BCE)

Registration: Professional Engineer (PE)

Required Skills: Bentley OpenRoads Designer, Client Management, MicroStation, Project Management

Our Client is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to join their Tampa, FL office as a Senior Roadway Project Manager. This role offers the opportunity to lead and coordinate a range of transportation engineering projects in collaboration with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and local agencies. Projects span roadway design, complete streets initiatives, and bicycle/pedestrian infrastructure. Current projects include resurfacing, widening, and interchange efforts across FDOT Districts 1, 2, 5, and 7, as well as safety studies, design contracts, innovative interchange/intersection peer reviews, and numerous local agency initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Support strategic business development efforts within Florida transportation markets, building strong client relationships and identifying new opportunities.

  • Provide senior leadership and collaborate with transportation leaders across Florida operations.

  • Lead pursuits, project presentations, and manage engagements with FDOT districts and local municipal agencies.

  • Recruit and develop engineering talent in Florida, especially within the Tampa region.

  • Oversee the production and delivery of transportation projects for FDOT and municipal clients.

  • Champion project delivery excellence and ensure a superior client experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.

  • PE license in Florida (or ability to obtain via reciprocity).

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in municipal project management and client development.

  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, schedules, performance indicators, and risks.

  • Proficiency in MicroStation and working knowledge of Bentley OpenRoads Designer.

  • Strong project and client management capabilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
