Shop Foreman

Job Overview: Our transportation client is seeking to add a new Shop Foreman to their team in the Iowa City area. This person will oversee the daily operations of the shop and ensure repairs are completed safely and efficiently.

This is a Direct Hire role.

• Assign repair orders to technicians based on skillset, availability, and operational priorities.
• Train and mentor technicians on industry standards, new techniques, and equipment use.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to provide feedback, address performance issues, and support professional development.
• Establish and monitor team performance metrics, ensuring accountability for achieving goals.
• Track repair progress to ensure timely completion, utilizing external dealer locations as needed.
• Maintain consistent team training and accurate documentation of parts and repairs for all equipment types.
• Perform quality control inspections to uphold high standards of safety and workmanship.
• Collaborate with vendors to support repair needs and source necessary components.
  

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in a fleet shop or similar environment preferred.
• Preferred certifications include DOT certification, Bendix Brake Training, or OEM Engine certifications.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in maintenance-related software, such as Samsara, TMT/Trimble, or Teletrac.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively across all organizational levels and roles.
