Job Title: Database Administration Support
Location: Salt Lake City, UT (onsite + willingness to work weekends)
Duration: 6 months + Possibility to Extend and/or Convert to FTE
Pay Rate: $51/hr (W2 Only)
Job/Role Description:
- This role provides Database Administration Support and production support for Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise, Sybase IQ, UDB DB2, Sybase Replication, Postgres, Hadoop, MSSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle database infrastructure on a global scale.
- This position performs daily monitoring of database infrastructure and alerts while scheduling and managing maintenance jobs using Autosys.
- Continually evaluate the operations of the environment and assist in the optimization and delivery of server infrastructure.
- Perform root cause analysis on system failures and incidents and provide remediation solutions.
- Communicate and coordinate with application support and other IT support teams to deliver timely responses for critical requests.
- Responsible for provisioning activities and user requests; participate in Business Continuity plan tests across all regions related to database infrastructure.
- Adhere to company change management requirements and procedures; create and maintain policies and procedures for regular operational activities.
- Manage small project initiatives within the Database team across large portions of the enterprise, including datacenter migrations and end-of-life database software and hardware initiatives.
- This is an onsite role in Salt Lake City, UT that requires working weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of experience in database administration or a related Database Administration role.
- Five years of experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux v5/6/7/8.
- Strong experience in database administration, maintenance, implementation, migration, and upgrades in complex system environments.
- Extensive experience with Sybase ASE, IQ, and Replication (v16.x, v15.x, v12.x) database administration on Linux platforms.
- Strong knowledge of UDB/DB2, including HADR, database design, development, and maintenance.
- Strong working knowledge of DBA tasks with solid troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- IT experience with a solid understanding of banking domains and processes.
- Knowledge of job schedulers such as bash, Autosys, cron jobs, and similar tools.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with global teams.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
