Telecom Coordinator
Location: St. Petersburg, FL (open to Orlando area); will be covering entire FL territory (80% onsite/field; potentially 1-day/per week virtual for admin duties)
Duration: 12 Month Contract
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Implementation Coordinator to support telecommunications infrastructure projects. This contingent worker position requires extensive travel and hands-on coordination of network implementation activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and verify engineering packages for completeness and accuracy
- Conduct site walkdowns to verify Method of Procedure (MOP) completeness
- Coordinate with technicians and vendors to schedule installation work
- Oversee cable management installation and ensure adherence to industry best practices
- Label devices and cabling according to industry standards
- Document installations with detailed before and after photographs
- Interface with site customers and change management teams
- Provide technical guidance on DC and AC component selection
- Support network equipment installations of Cisco routers and switches
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with ability to travel up to 80%
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio
- Working knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, and network fundamentals
- Understanding of equipment end-of-life cycles and replacement planning
- Familiarity with single mode and multimode fiber optic cable and connector types
- Knowledge of cable management techniques and industry standards
- Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation
- Experience with Method of Procedures (MOPs) and site walkdowns
- Understanding of DC and AC power systems in telecom environments
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in telecommunications or data center environments
- Cisco CCNA certification or equivalent networking certification
- BICSI certification (Installer 2, Technician, or RCDD)
- Experience with JIRA project management tool
- Knowledge of utility industry standards and practices
- Previous contractor/vendor management experience
