Application Management Engineer (Multi-Application Support)
Charlotte, NC (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)
Contract: 18 Months (Potential Extension/Conversion)
Rate:$60-$65\hr
Overview
We are seeking a highly technical, hands-on Application Management Engineer to support multiple applications across a complex enterprise environment. This role is ideal for a versatile, “jack-of-all-trades” engineer who can work across infrastructure, cloud, application, and security domains.
You will play a critical role in ensuring application stability, performance, and scalability while supporting modernization initiatives such as cloud migration and infrastructure services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end support for multiple applications across various platforms
- Troubleshoot issues across application, server, and infrastructure layers
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams
- Support cloud migration and hybrid environment initiatives
- Configure and maintain monitoring, authentication, and infrastructure services
- Ensure high availability, performance, and operational stability of systems
Core Technical Responsibilities
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Support and execute data center to cloud migration initiatives
- Work within hybrid cloud environments and modern infrastructure setups
Application Monitoring
- Configure and manage observability tools such as:
- Splunk
- ThousandEyes
- AppDynamics (or similar APM tools)
Application & Server Configuration
- Setup, configure, and troubleshoot:
- Load balancers
- Web servers
- Apache Tomcat
- Application servers
Security & Certificate Management
- Manage certificates and authentication systems including:
- Certificate management platforms (e.g., Venafi)
- SSH protocols and authentication keys
Infrastructure Services
- Configure and support:
- APIs and integrations
- File transfer solutions
- Object storage (e.g., S3)
- Databases
- Network data/file transfer tools (NDMs)
Operating Systems & Automation
- Work with Linux/Unix file systems
- Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and operational support
Identity & Access Management
- Support user migrations and integrations across:
- Active Directory
- Azure Active Directory
- Ping Identity
- OAuth2 frameworks
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience across application support, infrastructure, and cloud environments
- Strong troubleshooting skills across multi-tier applications
- Experience working with monitoring tools (Splunk, AppDynamics, ThousandEyes)
- Solid understanding of web/application servers and load balancing
- Experience with Linux/Unix systems and shell scripting
- Familiarity with authentication, certificate management, and IAM tools
- Ability to manage multiple applications and priorities simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in large enterprise or highly regulated environments
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience supporting finance or enterprise-scale systems
- Strong documentation and process improvement skills
