Title: Project Manager
Location: Detroit, MI 48226, In Office (Tue, Wed, Thu)
Assignment: 2-year assignment
Pay: $71-75/hr W2 ONLY, NO C2C
Job Description:
- Responsible for project management including creation, monitoring and management of schedule, scope, budget and resource plans and status reporting.
- Responsible for implementation of infrastructure and security related software, hardware and services from project initiation to deployment and hand-off to support.
- Manages all aspects of implementation as it relates to technical delivery including compliance with IT (and other) processes and standards.
- Partners with business partners and technology experts to design and deploy solutions that deliver new capabilities and close gaps.
- Facilitates the team collaboration by providing hands on management of application development, developer-based ops support, and troubleshooting activities for enterprise applications as needed.
- Manages all internal and external technical resources in the delivery of technology solutions; plan and implement products, including assembly of all standard project artifacts and associated materials such as documentation, release notes, installation, quality and usage.
- Leads the delivery of projects across the IT portfolio, works with project sponsors, process owners & business relationship manager to develop, deliver and productionize IT infrastructure and security implementations.
- Description of Responsibilities
- Manage work through daily huddles and regular meetings – Project team huddle and status is owned by the DL (invite, agenda, participants and facilitation.) The DL is responsible for maintaining/tracking the progression of work (e.g. schedule, task list, action, etc.) The DL is responsible for ensuring all action items are captured and followed up on and closed. The DL is expected to escalate as necessary when they identify a issue/risk and are unable to resolve within context of huddle or if it has material impact on schedule, budget, etc.
- Communicate status to stakeholders – Project stakeholder communication is the responsibility of the DL. It is necessary that the DL keep the project sponsor (and BRM manager) informed with timely and regular communication. The minimum expectations are the project status report and a regular stakeholder meeting. The communications should provide how key activities are tracking (e.g. schedule, budget, OCM, etc.) and early awareness of any issues or risks that will change project status (red or yellow) and opportunity to provide input/approve get-to-green plans (e.g. approve OT, add resources, etc.)
Key Responsibilities:
- Proven ability to manage risk by developing and executing mitigation and remediation plans
- Proven ability to identify, document and articulate the impact of changes in scope and other dimensions of project on budget, schedule and resources.
- Manage work through daily huddles and regular meetings
- Manages issues, risks, escalations, timelines, scope, resources, direct (assigned to project) and indirect (others impacted by project)
- Ensure timely delivery and maintain scope
- Communicate status to stakeholders
- Produce project metrics
Required Experience:
- In-depth knowledge and experience with implementation of IT infrastructure and security related projects including those integrating with or leveraging cloud storage, SAAS and vendor installed software, hardware and appliances.
- ITIL Certification
- PMP Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related discipline & 4-plus year experience as an IT project manager focusing on design and/or software development / infrastructure projects, or (in lieu of a degree) a total of 8 years’ experience performing project management related functions in an IT organization
