You will coach, facilitate, and optimize Agile teams to deliver high-quality outcomes through disciplined application of Agile principles and practices. This role emphasizes servant leadership, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement to ensure measurable value delivery to customers.

You will work closely with Product Owners, team members, and stakeholders to strengthen Agile maturity, improve predictability, and foster a culture of accountability and high performance. This position operates with minimal supervision and requires strong leadership across complex, technical delivery environments.

Key Responsibilities

Value Delivery & Execution

  • Ensure teams consistently deliver customer value with quality and predictability.
  • Coordinate, plan, and facilitate team work across sprints and planning horizons.
  • Utilize Agile metrics to assess predictability, delivery health, and accountability.

Team Coaching & Servant Leadership

  • Model servant leadership and guide teams in self-organization and cross-functionality.
  • Coach teams on Agile principles, practices, and mindset.
  • Mentor team members and guide Agile maturity through disciplined process adherence.

Continuous Improvement

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Conduct team maturity assessments and maintain a continuous improvement roadmap.
  • Identify process gaps and implement targeted improvement strategies.

Product Owner Support

  • Partner closely with the Product Owner to align delivery with product goals.
  • Support backlog refinement, prioritization, and roadmap clarity.
  • Ensure shared understanding of scope, priorities, and outcomes across the team.

Agile Practices & Frameworks

  • Educate teams and stakeholders on Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and applicable scaling frameworks.
  • Ensure teams remain focused and protected from external distractions.
  • Maintain high-quality Agile artifacts and working agreements.

Facilitation of Agile Events

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including:
    • Daily stand-ups
    • Sprint planning
    • Backlog refinement
    • Sprint reviews/demos
    • Retrospectives
    • Big Room Planning / Program Increment Planning
  • Use ceremonies to assess team health, productivity, and improvement opportunities.

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Analyze performance metrics such as velocity, burndown, and throughput.
  • Use data to inform improvement actions and delivery decisions.

Impediment, Risk & Dependency Management

  • Proactively identify and remove impediments.
  • Manage risks and dependencies through resolution.
  • Escalate appropriately while maintaining team focus.

Stakeholder Communication

  • Facilitate transparent communication between teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure alignment on goals, progress, and delivery expectations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university OR 7 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with product and project delivery concepts and practices.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I, or equivalent).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience transitioning teams and organizations from Waterfall to Agile.
  • Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to coach individuals and teams adopting Agile ways of working.
  • Experience coaching value-driven backlog prioritization techniques.
  • Ability to advise teams on the Agile framework best suited to their context (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives of varying complexity.
  • Growth mindset with a passion for learning and applying continuous improvement.
