Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise compute and storage infrastructure solutions. This role focuses heavily on VMware vSphere 8 environments, Cisco UCS platforms, and enterprise storage integration, supporting both project delivery and lifecycle modernization initiatives.
Architect and deliver enterprise compute and storage solutions using VMware vSphere and Cisco UCS
Design, deploy, and operationalize vSphere 8 clusters (HA, DRS, vMotion, vLCM)
Lead Cisco UCS implementations including:
UCS X-Series and C-Series
UCS Manager (UCSM) and Intersight Managed Mode (IMM)
Service profiles, firmware baselines, and policy management
Integrate compute platforms with Pure Storage and HPE Alletra MP using Fibre Channel SAN
Design and manage FC fabrics, zoning (Cisco MDS / Nexus), and LUN provisioning
Create architecture designs, server build sheets, and documentation for build teams
Support hardware, OS, and VMware lifecycle initiatives across the enterprise
Architect and design VM and compute solutions; define scope and create server build sheets
Lead VMware lifecycle efforts to eliminate vSphere 7
Install and configure vSphere 8 hosts and support workload migrations
Support enterprise hardware lifecycle initiatives
Support operating system lifecycle modernization
Deep expertise with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, vMotion)
Extensive experience with Cisco UCS (blades, fabric interconnects, service profiles)
Enterprise storage experience (Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS)
Strong infrastructure architecture and documentation skills
Experience integrating compute and storage for VMware environments
VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
Cisco CCNA or higher (VMware and/or Cisco)
Automation experience (Ansible, PowerShell, Terraform)
Cloud exposure (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, Oracle)
4 days onsite / 1 day remote
Occasional travel within Tampa Electric Territory
Ability to lift 50–75 lbs and work in data center environments
