Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Architect to join our Enterprise Architecture team. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives in designing and governing enterprise-grade cloud environments. You will play a critical part in shaping the organization’s cloud strategy, ensuring that vendor-proposed and internally developed solutions align with enterprise standards, security policies, and performance expectations.
You’ll act as a key technical authority across multiple cloud platforms—primarily Microsoft Azure, with exposure to AWS—and will directly influence how modern infrastructure supports mission-critical business systems in a highly regulated, performance-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and design scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure solutions—primarily in Azure, with consideration for multi-cloud environments.
- Review and validate vendor-proposed cloud architectures to ensure compliance with enterprise standards, security protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership and approval for infrastructure components, including:
- Virtual Machines (VMs) and compute workloads
- Containerized environments using Kubernetes or Docker
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) via Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
- Collaborate with internal IT teams, vendors, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of solutions into the enterprise ecosystem.
- Define and enforce governance frameworks for cloud usage, cost control, access management, and performance optimization.
- Support migration initiatives, including assessment, planning, and execution of workloads moving to the cloud.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and cloud service advancements, recommending innovations that drive value and modernization.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years in a Cloud Architect or Cloud Infrastructure role.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure, including core services such as compute, storage, networking, identity, and monitoring.
- Hands-on knowledge of multi-cloud architectures (preferably Azure and AWS).
- Proven experience with container orchestration, IaC frameworks, and automation.
- Strong understanding of security principles, identity and access management, network topology, and cost optimization in cloud environments.
- Experience reviewing vendor-proposed solutions and ensuring architectural compliance.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert or other relevant Microsoft certifications.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows.
- Experience within regulated industries such as utilities, energy, healthcare, or finance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
