Job Title: Senior QA Specialist (Credit Card Authorization Testing)
Location McClean, VA  ***Hybrid***
Duration: 6+ Months
Role Type: W2 Contract Engagement

Overview

We are seeking a Senior QA Specialist to join a focused, high-impact 3-person QA team supporting critical credit card authorization initiatives. This is a project-based contract role requiring strong manual testing expertise within financial services environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Splunk and has previously supported enterprise-level transaction or authorization validation systems.

This role involves hands-on manual test execution, test case documentation, and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and document manual test cases for credit card authorization systems
• Develop, update, and maintain detailed test cases and test documentation
• Utilize Splunk for log analysis and troubleshooting
• Participate in collaborative testing workflows with business and technology partners
• Write or review Gherkin/Cucumber-style test case documentation
• Participate in a 1-hour interview including a live test case exercise

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of hands-on manual QA/testing experience
• Must have Splunk experience
• Financial services domain experience is required (Banking experience is a strong plus)
• Proven ability to clearly document and communicate test cases
• Experience collaborating cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

• Exposure to green screen or legacy UI testing
• Experience testing authorization flows or financial documentation
• Familiarity with Cucumber / Gherkin for BDD-style test writing

• Strong communicator — confident in documentation and live test walkthroughs
• Financial testing background — understands authorization flows and production risk
