Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Technical Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to join our utility company’s IT team. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, working closely with stakeholders to analyze, document, and deliver system enhancements and integrations. This role requires expertise in utility business processes, strong technical acumen, and the ability to manage system implementations and upgrades effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Requirements Gathering and Analysis:
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and document business processes, objectives, and requirements.
- Translate business needs into detailed technical specifications.
- System Design and Implementation:
- Work with development teams to design, test, and deploy system solutions.
- Ensure systems align with regulatory and compliance requirements in the utility sector.
- Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for system issues, working closely with IT and vendor teams.
- Analyze and resolve system bugs or errors efficiently.
- Project Coordination:
- Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams for project delivery.
- Manage timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Extract, analyze, and present data to support business decisions.
- Design and develop dashboards and reports for key performance indicators (KPIs).
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Technical BSA, Systems Analyst, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of utility industry processes and regulations.
- Proficiency with enterprise systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms).
- Knowledge of system integration tools and methodologies (e.g., APIs, middleware).
- Advanced skills in SQL, data analysis, and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Preferred:
- Experience with Smartsheet, GIS systems, or energy management tools.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or ITIL.
