Director of Programming – Youth Sports & Recreation

Are you a leader passionate about youth sports and community engagement? Swarthmore Recreation Association (SRA) is hiring a Director of Programming to oversee and grow our year-round recreational programming!

About the Role

As the Director of Programming, you’ll manage the execution of youth and community programs across a variety of sports and activities. This is a hands-on leadership role working closely with program managers, volunteer coaches, and SRA committees to create a safe, fun, and organized experience for every participant.

Key Responsibilities

• Program Coordination: Manage registration, schedules, and execution of seasonal youth and adult recreation programs.

• Team Leadership: Supervise program managers, volunteers, and paid coaches to ensure positive and smooth operations.

• Social Media & Outreach: Promote programs across Facebook, Instagram, Peachjar, and email blasts to boost visibility and enrollment.

• Mentorship Support: Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop coaching mentorships and manage youth-paid coach placements.

• Facility & Equipment Oversight: Maintain inventory, organize sheds, and replace equipment as needed.

• Community Engagement: Act as the liaison between SRA and local sports leagues, schools, and community stakeholders.

• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends during peak seasons.

Swarthmore, PA (in-person, community-based role)
