Commercial Electrical Estimator

Location: Elizabethtown, PA (Must live within 1 hour)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, Onsite
Reports to: CEO
Compensation: $90,000-$100,000/year, plus performance-based bonus

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Electrical Estimator to lead our electrical estimating efforts for plan/spec/bid and design-build projects. This role is pivotal in securing new contracts and building lasting client relationships. The estimator will work closely with our Business Development Manager as the technical expert during client presentations and collaborate with the CEO, who oversees project management for awarded work. While the primary focus is on delivering accurate and competitive estimates, there is a clear path for the right candidate to grow into project management responsibilities, enhancing career development and impact within our growing electrical division. This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical estimates for commercial plan/spec/bid and design-build projects.

• Conduct comprehensive take-offs, labor/material pricing, and cost analysis.

• Review construction documents, specifications, and addenda to ensure scope alignment.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers for competitive pricing.

• Partner with the Business Development Manager to present technical solutions, address client inquiries, and enhance proposals.

• Support the CEO in transitioning estimates to active projects, ensuring technical accuracy and continuity.

• Maintain precise documentation of bids, proposals, and client interactions.

• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client discussions as required.

• Stay informed on industry trends, National Electrical Code (NEC) updates, local codes, and emerging technologies impacting estimating.

Qualifications

• Must live within 1 hour of Elizabethtown, PA.

• 5+ years of experience in commercial electrical estimating (plan/spec and design-build).

• Strong knowledge of NEC, local codes, and industry standards.

• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.

• Proficiency with estimating software and digital take-off tools.

• Excellent communication skills to convey technical details clearly to clients and team members.

• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Collaborative mindset with a willingness to work across business development and operations teams.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $90,000-$100,000/year, based on experience.
