Compensation: $58/installation, $240/non-installation days, $100/down days, $50/MVP awards, plus travel stipends

As a Smart Home Technology Installer, you will be part of our Field Services Technician team, delivering expert-level installation and service of advanced smart home technologies. You will ensure high-quality installations, provide exceptional customer service, and maintain compliance with industry standards. This role includes a 3–6-month training period involving cross-training in our Smart Vehicle department, with opportunities to earn Mobile Electronics Certified Professional (MECP) certification.
Install smart home technology components (e.g., wiring, computer screens, onboard camera systems) to company and industry standards.
Track installations and service jobs using company-provided dispatching and reporting tools, maintaining detailed daily logs of start/finish times, job details, and scope of work.
Proactively communicate with Tech Implementation Managers, Program Managers, and clients to exceed customer satisfaction expectations.
Manage and maintain inventory, preparing proactively for each installation job.
Report installation issues or challenges promptly to headquarters for resolution.
Adhere to work safety rules, regulations, and quality control standards.
Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client needs with honesty and integrity.
Participate in a 3–6-month training period, including 90% travel to install and service onboard camera systems, GPS units, and other technologies for commercial vehicles in the Waste/Recycle Industry.
Minimum 2 years of electrical/wiring experience or certification, OR 2 years of mechanical/repair experience or certification.
Valid driver’s license, reliable personal transportation, and vehicle insurance.
Ability to pass a drug test and carry worker’s compensation insurance.
Own basic tools for installations.
Transferable field technician experience (e.g., cable installation, internet installation, construction, solar technician, mechanic, audio installation) preferred.
MECP certification preferred but not required (training provided).
Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a team.
Excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members at all levels.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks and demands.
Lift and carry up to 45 lbs.
Climb ladders up to 14 feet and work in attics, tight spaces, and under vehicles.
Bend, kneel, crouch, and stand for extended periods.
Perform repetitive grasping and fine manipulation with hands.
Work outdoors in various weather conditions and in confined spaces for long hours.
During the 3–6-month contract training period, you will:
Cross-train in the Smart Vehicle department, installing and servicing onboard camera systems, GPS units, and other technologies for commercial vehicles.
Travel 90% within the U.S. (and parts of Canada) for customer site installations and service calls.
Earn MECP certification, fully sponsored by the company.
Receive full coverage for travel expenses (flights, car rentals, hotels) and a daily food stipend ($35/day) and incidental stipend ($10/day).
Training Week: $1,200 + $250 food stipend.
Installations: $58 per installation (30–80 minutes average).
Non-Installation Days: $240 for audits or quality control.
Crew Outs: $75 per occurrence.
Down Days: $100 for approved schedule disruptions (e.g., missing kits, closed sites).
MVP Awards: $50 for exceptional performance.
Travel Reimbursements: $35/day food stipend, $10/day incidental stipend, fuel and supplies reimbursed via receipt submission (if purchased without a Tech Implementation Manager).
Note: Contractors cover mobile phone usage, ride-share costs, and worker’s compensation insurance (consult a CPA for potential tax deductions). Personal vehicle use reimbursed at $0.70/mile with prior approval.
