Senior Construction Estimator - Savannah, GA

Compensation: $125,000–$140,000/year (based on experience)
Bonus: Eligible for semiannual profit share

Job Summary

We are seeking a proven Senior Construction Estimator for our growing office in Savannah or Washington, GA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with companies generating $100M+ in revenue, specializing in civil site development and utility projects, with a focus on delivering accurate and competitive cost estimates.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Prepares comprehensive cost estimates for site development projects, including civil site clearing, earthwork, underground utilities, and drainage.

  • Evaluates project requirements by analyzing plans and specifications.

  • Performs detailed quantity take-offs and scope clarification.

  • Conducts value engineering to optimize project costs.

  • Attends pre-bid meetings and performs construction risk analysis through site visits.

  • Obtains and reviews quotes from subcontractors and vendors.

  • Prepares and presents budgets, reports, and project plans.

  • Collaborates with in-house project management and operations teams to ensure project buy-in.

  • Attends internal meetings with Project Managers and staff.

  • Navigates and applies construction standards and specifications.

  • Upholds the company’s culture of safety.

  • Maintains strong vendor and customer relationships.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid and HeavyJob preferred.

  • Experience with AGTEK Earthworks and Roadway preferred.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Advanced math skills, including geometry and basic arithmetic.

  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and plans.

  • Strong presentation skills for proposals and projects.

  • Capacity to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of current state and local construction standards.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Openness to training opportunities.

  • Willingness to travel locally as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mathematics, Architecture, or a related field is encouraged but not required.

  • 7+ years of proven experience estimating site and utility development projects.

  • Experience with companies generating $100M+ in revenue is essential.

  • Experience bidding both private and public sector projects.

  • U.S. work authorization and a valid driver’s license required.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

  • Ability to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move to inspect machinery.

  • Must be able to visually inspect equipment.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
