RCS Staffing has an immediate need for an NDE TG Level II Examiner in Huntersville, NC (with hybrid opportunity). This is a full-time direct-hire Hybrid Remote assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation and holidays.
Overview of YOUR role as an NDE TG Level II Examiner
As an NDE TG Level II Examiner, you will be part of the fast-paced and growing field of providing specialized Turbine & Generator nondestructive examinations (NDE) to clients using various methods. This person will join a group of highly specialized technicians responsible for using NDE and engineering support to assess the condition of critical rotating equipment and associated components. This position requires an individual who has industry experience and has secured and maintained NDE Level II certification in at least one surface examination method (MT, PT or ET) and one volumetric examination method (UT, ET, or RT).
As an NDE TG Level II Examiner YOU will:
· Conduct specialized Turbine & Generator nondestructive examinations using various NDE methods
· Assess the condition of critical rotating equipment and associated components
· Set up and calibrate equipment, conduct inspections according to procedures
· Interpret, evaluate, and document results in all testing method(s) utilized
· Provide on-the-job training to entry-level technicians and perform as a supervisor
· Conduct examinations independently and troubleshoot equipment
· Work in difficult environments including power plant settings
· Accept extensive travel assignments with extended work hours/days/weeks
· Maintain flexibility to the dynamics of client scheduling
· Ensure safety compliance and adherence to written procedures and quality practices
· Work in hazardous industrial environments including at heights, noisy locations, and near operating machinery
YOU are the ideal NDE TG Level II Examiner candidate if you have:
· High school diploma or equivalency with secondary education leading toward an AS/BS in science, materials, or engineering
· 2+ years of industry-related experience as a Level II NDE examiner or 2+ years of experience with AS or BS degree
· Can secure Level II NDE certification in no less than two (2) surface methods (VT, MT or PT) during onboarding, and in at least one (1) volumetric (UT or ET) NDE method within six (6) months
· Strong understanding of basic physical NDE principles and processes and competence in advanced technologies
· Sense for mechanical concepts and spatial relationships
· Strong integrity and ethical behavior, trustworthy and respectful of peers
· Team oriented and professionally minded
· Entrepreneurial approach to work and career
· Safety conscious with compliance to written procedures and quality practices
· Willing to conduct assignments in less than favorable conditions including dirty or radiological environments
· Ability to maintain focus in hazardous industrial environments
It's a BONUS if you have:
· Experience in phased array UT
· Automated UT (AUT) experience
· Gas Turbine NDE experience
· Experience working at nuclear utilities
· Experience working in power plant environments
