RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Principal Piping Designer in Greenville, SC. This is a full-time contract Office Based assignment with our client. This position offers competitive pay and benefits package.

Overview of YOUR role as a Principal Piping Designer

As a Principal Piping Designer, you will utilize computer-aided design (CAD) applications to originate and produce drawings and 3D models of moderate to advanced complexity. This role requires extensive 3D modeling experience and the ability to work with minimal supervision while directing and approving work done by other designers. You will be responsible for reading, interpreting, and generating design drawings while conducting field walkdowns and developing project estimates and schedules.

As a Principal Piping Designer YOU will:

· Use drafting applications to originate and produce drawings and 3D models of moderate to advanced complexity
· Utilize 3D modeling software (S3D preferred) for piping design projects
· Read, interpret, and generate design drawings of moderate to advanced complexity with minimal supervision from engineering
· Walk down field systems with minimal guidance and interpret field direction
· Generate advanced design details and create new drawings
· Modify existing drawings as required
· Direct, check, and approve work done by other designers
· Develop estimates, schedules, and staffing requirements
· Prepare progress reports and key quantities tracking reports
· Develop project scope of services and scope of facilities documentation

YOU are the ideal Principal Piping Designer candidate if you have:

· Must be a U.S. citizen (required)
· A combination of education and 10-15 years experience in drafting related to engineering and construction
· Associate degree preferred
· 3D modeling experience (S3D preferred)
· Drafting/designer experience in engineering fields
· Working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to specialized engineering design
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
· Strong technical and leadership skills
· Experience directing and mentoring other designers

It's a BONUS if you have:

· Nuclear industry experience
· S3D (SmartPlant 3D) proficiency
· PE or other professional certifications
· Experience with Department of Energy projects
· Advanced knowledge of nuclear codes and standards
