RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Project Engineer in Houston, TX. This is a full-time direct-hire Remote assignment with our client (with occasional in-person meetings in Houston and site visits). This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation and holidays.

Overview of YOUR role as a Project Engineer

As a Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering innovative engineering solutions for our client's Gas Programs team. In this dynamic position, you'll work both independently and alongside seasoned mentors, gaining hands-on experience and expanding your technical expertise. Whether you're tackling new design challenges or collaborating with senior engineers, this is a great opportunity to grow professionally in an environment that values learning, innovation, and teamwork.

As a Project Engineer YOU will:

· Lead design efforts on mid-sized natural gas distribution projects, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance
· Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
· Coordinate with design teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions
· Deliver high-quality analyses and technical reviews
· Engage with stakeholders to clarify requirements and project specifications
· Flag challenges and concerns to the Project Manager proactively
· Support business development efforts and proposal preparation
· Review drawings and technical documentation for accuracy and compliance
· Participate in quality control processes
· Drive process improvements to enhance precision and efficiency
· Maintain strong focus on technical excellence throughout project delivery
· Attend occasional in-person meetings in Houston and conduct site visits as needed

YOU are the ideal Project Engineer candidate if you have:

· Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution
· 4-6 years of work experience in the pipeline industry or related industry
· Experience in natural gas distribution design (required)
· Strong technical and analytical skills
· Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
· Ability to work independently while also collaborating with team members
· Self-motivated with desire for professional growth
· Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

It's a BONUS if you have:

· Professional Engineer (PE) License
· Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
· Experience leading mid-sized projects
· Business development or proposal writing experience
· Familiarity with industry codes and standards for natural gas distribution
