RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Calibration Technician in Vernon Hills, IL. This is a full-time, contract-to-hire, office/laboratory-based assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation, and holidays.

Overview of YOUR role as a Calibration Technician
The Calibration Technician is responsible for performing precise calibrations, inspections, and measurements on a wide range of instruments and test equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards. This role requires strong analytical skills to identify measurement errors, determine uncertainties, and maintain documentation in accordance with ISO17025 and ANSI/Z540-1 standards.

As a Calibration Technician YOU will:
· Perform calibrations, inspections, and measurements on test equipment (IM&TE) to ensure measurement accuracy
· Document calibration activities in the Mudcats database and prepare certificates for packaging
· Use assigned calibration standards and procedures to complete work accurately
· Evaluate contracts and work orders to confirm requirements can be met
· Assist customers with calibration traceability, procedures, and technical contract issues
· Quantify sources of measurement error and determine measurement uncertainty
· Develop and maintain preventative maintenance and laboratory safety programs
· Perform minor repairs, administrative tasks, and support process setup related to calibrations

YOU are the ideal Calibration Technician candidate if you have:
· High school diploma or GED (PMEL, military, or technical education preferred)
· 2+ years of metrology/calibration experience in a regulated or quality-controlled environment (ISO9001, ISO17025, ISO13485, FDA)
· Experience maintaining and following ISO17025 and ANSI Z540 procedures
· Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting, interpreting schematics, and identifying measurement errors
· Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently or collaboratively
· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

It’s a BONUS if you have:
· PMEL or other advanced technical/military training
· Experience with non-routine calibration techniques
· Prior experience assisting with audits or technical customer support
