RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Sales and Use Tax Specialist in Framingham, MA. This is a full-time, contract assignment with our client.
The Sales and Use Tax Specialist ensures timely and accurate filing of indirect tax returns across multiple states, supports internal teams with tax research and exemption documentation, and reconciles tax-related accounts to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
• Ensure accurate and timely processing and filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax payments and returns.
• Download data from D365, manipulate it in Excel, and enter it into various state portals.
• Oversee filing of other indirect tax returns and payments including general excise, commercial activity, and contractors excise tax.
• Reconcile the monthly sales tax payable account and support accruals by reconciling tax returns and payments.
• Gather and compile data for sales and use tax returns.
• Support sales and project management teams by researching exemption rules and providing exemption certificates.
• 2–5 years of experience preparing and filing multi-state sales and use tax returns.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with ERP systems (e.g., D365).
• Experience reconciling tax payable accounts.
• Understanding of indirect tax regulations and compliance processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Technical knowledge of sales tax exemption rules.
• Experience with commercial activity tax, contractors excise tax, or general excise tax filings.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and state-specific tax portals.
