RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Facility Condition Assessor. This is a contract assignment with our client. 

Overview of YOUR role as a Facility Condition Assessor

As a Facility Condition Assessor YOU will:

• Conduct on-site facility assessments reviewing condition, energy, and operational performance using mobile software (iPad-based).
• Review and evaluate major building systems (MEP), structures, interiors, exteriors, and site components.
• Identify system types, conditions, remaining useful life, deficiencies, and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Provide planning-level cost estimates and recommendations for repairs or replacements.
• Interview stakeholders and review documentation and property records.
• Assemble preliminary asset inventories from construction drawings, BAS front-end systems, and facility staff interviews.
• Operate LiDAR and/or photogrammetry equipment for site data capture.
• Compile detailed reports using asset management software and Excel.
• Travel approximately 50% of the time across the U.S.

YOU are the ideal Facility Condition Assessor candidate if you have:

• A degree or diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil), Building Science, or a related field.
• 1–5 years of experience in building assessments, energy audits, or facility operations.
• Familiarity with ASTM E2018-01 standards.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and develop asset inventories.
• Understanding of building envelopes, MEP systems, and construction practices.
• Experience with cost estimating for building repairs and replacements.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent Excel skills and ability to quickly learn new software.
• A valid driver’s license.

It’s a BONUS if you have:

• Professional certification(s) such as PE, CEM, or BOC II (or are working toward them).
• Experience recognizing BAS configurations, energy-saving features in mechanical systems, and networked systems.
• Hands-on experience with BAS graphical interfaces and field-level hardware (actuators/valves).
