RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Payroll Specialist II in Warrenville, IL. This is a contract assignment with our client.

Overview of YOUR role as a Payroll Specialist II

This position is responsible for processing all payroll transactions accurately and timely within Deltek Vision and UKG. This role also involves taking initiative on larger team projects and supporting continuous improvement within the payroll function.

As a Payroll Specialist II YOU will:

• Perform daily payroll operations and maintain payroll information by collating, calculating, and entering data
• Prepare payroll reports including summaries of earnings, tax deductions, and non-taxable wages
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of all payroll transactions
• Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate reports
• Process garnishments and ensure compliance
• Understand proper taxation of employer-paid benefits
• Utilize Deltek Vantagepoint for time and attendance, integrating with payroll systems
• Process manual checks and relocation metrics
• Load HR import files for all companies and troubleshoot file issues
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries via Helpdesk tickets
• Process year-end reporting including W-2s and W-2cs
• Support special projects and contribute to process improvement initiatives

YOU are the ideal Payroll Specialist II candidate if you have:

• 5+ years of payroll processing experience
• U.S. multistate payroll experience
• Familiarity with California wage and hour laws
• Experience processing payroll for 2,000+ employees
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote)
• Strong time management and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
