RCS Staffing has an immediate need for an Electric Substation Inspector in Mid & Southern Georgia. This is a full-time contract hire field-based assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation, and holidays.

Overview of YOUR role as an Electric Substation Inspector

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all onsite drawings and documentation are up to date, overseeing drawing revisions, coordinating permit compliance, and supporting construction and maintenance activities for substation and transmission/distribution systems.

As an Electric Substation Inspector YOU will:

• Ensure onsite Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings and drawing lists are current and accompanied by transmittals
• Review construction drawings and provide feedback to identify and mitigate constructability issues
• Track contractor mark-ups and collect all red-marked hard copy IFC drawings
• Ensure contractors have access to and are using the current revision of drawings, including Below Grade, Above Grade, and Testing and Commissioning sets
• Collect and manage all project permit requirements and coordinate permit inspections

YOU are the ideal Electric Substation Inspector candidate if you have:

• Five or more years of experience in construction and maintenance of electrical transmission, distribution systems, or substation facilities
• General knowledge of electric line work and/or substation construction
• Familiarity with environmental regulations related to construction, including stormwater pollution prevention, wetlands, stream crossings, and spill response
• Basic understanding of industry codes such as NEC, NESC, and OSHA

It’s a BONUS if you have:

• Experience working with permit inspections and compliance processes
• Hands-on experience with testing and commissioning phases of substation construction
• Previous work with redline and as-built drawing documentation processes
