RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Principal/Lead Electrical/Controls/Digital Engineer in Chattanooga, TN. This is a full-time direct-hire hybrid assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation, and holidays.

Overview of YOUR role as a Principal/Lead Electrical/Controls/Digital Engineer

Our client is seeking a Principal or Lead Electrical/Controls/Digital Engineer to support the design, modification, and digital modernization of systems at commercial nuclear power facilities. This is a strategic leadership role within their Nuclear Services Division, with responsibilities across electrical, instrumentation & controls (I&C), and digital engineering disciplines.

As a Principal/Lead Electrical/Controls/Digital Engineer YOU will:

• Lead the preparation of proposals and deliverables for electrical, controls, and digital nuclear projects
• Serve as the technical point of contact for clients, guiding discipline-specific engineering teams
• Develop and review engineering change packages (ECs), design documentation, and cost estimates
• Conduct field walkdowns to assess and document existing plant configurations
• Design and modify digital I&C systems including system requirements, network architecture, control logic, and HMI
• Perform cyber security assessments and classify digital assets per 10 CFR 73.54 and NEI 08-09

YOU are the ideal Principal/Lead Electrical/Controls/Digital Engineer candidate if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering (required)
• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 8+ years of experience in electrical/controls/digital system design
• 4+ years of experience in commercial or DOE nuclear facility modifications
• Experience with industry-standard procedures (IP-ENG-001, NISP-EN-04)
• Ability to travel approx. 6–8 days/month to plant sites
• Ability to obtain unescorted access at operating or construction nuclear plants
• Strong knowledge of nuclear cyber security requirements, network architecture, and digital systems

It’s a BONUS if you have:

• Master’s degree in Engineering
• Experience working with multiple operating nuclear utilities and vendors
• Previous unescorted access at nuclear facilities
• Machine design or equipment design experience
• Experience with circuit analysis/design and control systems engineering
