RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Lead Civil/Structural Engineer in Chattanooga, TN. This is a full-time direct-hire hybrid assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation, and holidays.

Overview of YOUR role as a Lead Civil/Structural Engineer

Our client is seeking a Lead Civil/Structural Engineer to join their Nuclear Services Division and lead the civil/structural engineering discipline in the design, analysis, and construction of nuclear facilities. This is a strategic growth opportunity to support an expanding nuclear generation project portfolio and offers excellent career advancement.

As a Lead Civil/Structural Engineer YOU will:

• Lead the development of engineering deliverables and proposals for nuclear civil/structural projects
• Act as a technical point of contact for customers and guide discipline-specific engineering teams
• Prepare design change packages (ECs), scoping documents, and cost estimates
• Conduct field walkdowns at nuclear facilities to verify existing conditions and support design
• Serve as a Project Engineer for Civil projects and collaborate on multi-discipline teams
• Apply engineering design codes and standards (AISC, ASTM, ACI) in support of nuclear facility modifications

YOU are the ideal Lead Civil/Structural Engineer candidate if you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university (required)
• PE license (required)
• 8+ years of civil/structural engineering experience
• 4+ years of experience designing modifications for commercial or DOE nuclear facilities
• Experience with IP-ENG-001 industry standard design procedure
• Strong working knowledge of civil/structural design codes (AISC, ASTM, ACI)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to travel approximately 6–8 days/month to plant sites
• Ability to obtain unescorted access to operating or construction nuclear plants

It’s a BONUS if you have:

• Master’s degree or other advanced degree in engineering
• Experience with multiple operating nuclear clients and vendors
• Prior unescorted access to nuclear facilities
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Vault, RISA, or ANSYS
• Experience with CADD and 3D modeling tools
