Job Description
RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Nuclear Quality Assurance Manager. This is a full time, direct hire, office position in Knoxville, TN or Chattanooga, TN with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation, and holidays.
As a Nuclear Quality Assurance Manager, YOU will:
- Manages the development, review, and maintenance of the quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with regulations, commitments, and policies. These include the internal audit and assessment, vendor audit, training and trending/analysis programs.
- Responsible to manage the QA oversight of the adequacy of the technical requirements, organizational performance and overall implementation of the QA programs related to the corporate and site organizations.
- Manage the development, maintenance and administration of the QA program for evaluating program effectiveness for design, construction/modification and operation of nuclear plants. This includes the development and administration of the Nuclear Quality Assurance Plan and QA internal procedures
- Direct the audit programs (including internal regulatory audits and vendor audits) to ensure that they provide the required high degree of safety and reliability and are carried out consistently with applicable laws, regulations, regulatory commitments, licenses, and other requirements.
- Direct the evaluation and qualification of suppliers of materials and services (acceptance of procured items, source surveillance, periodic assessments, etc.). Develop and maintain an approved suppliers list.
- Direct the development, implementation, and maintenance of the QA assessment program to ensure compliance to regulatory and company requirements, as well as the implementation of industry standards, benchmark performance and management expectations. Report results and recommendations to appropriate management.
- Develop and manage the trending and analysis functions of QA. Provide oversight and independent analysis of trending. Responsible to develop and issue a periodic independent assessment/report on the status of implementation and effectiveness of programs within the nuclear power group.
- Assess the site quality assurance organizations' performance through the internal audit and trend/analysis processes.
- Develop and manage the indoctrination / training / certification programs for QA personnel and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of that training.
- Responsible for Stopping Work or further processing, delivery, or installation or other comparable actions when warranted to control and/or prevent the use of nonconforming materials or continuance of activities adverse to quality at vendor shops, Corporate and nuclear plant sites.
- Inform the General Manager, Quality Assurance of significant quality issues or problems. Issue periodic independent assessments and reports on the status of implementation and effectiveness of programs within the Nuclear Power Group.
- Serve as a consultant to senior management relative to alternative solutions to technical and quality problems to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of implementation techniques. Advise and interface with senior site, plant, and corporate management on matters pertaining to the assessment program to aide in the identification and resolution of items that could result in enforcement actions, reduction in power generation, or endangering the health and safety of the general public.
- Develop and manage the budget for Corporate Quality Assurance. Obtain, assign, and direct appropriate personnel to perform the work within budget and meet goals and objectives.
YOU are the ideal Nuclear Quality Assurance Manager candidate if you have:
- Must have a Bachelor's degree in an engineering or scientific discipline or equivalent related experience
- 5+ years experience in nuclear power plant design, construction, operation or maintenance
- At least 5 years experience in QA related activities at least one of which should be nuclear power plant experience in the implementation of a quality assurance program.
- Knowledge of NRC regulations, industry codes and standards and INPO guidelines.
- Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
