Job Description
RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Distribution Design Engineer. This is a full time, Contract to Hire, remote position with our client.Overview of YOUR role as a Natural Gas Distribution Engineer
This position is responsible for developing and reviewing engineered pipeline construction drawings. You will work closely with drafters, designers, and management to execute project design work, including creating drawings, reviewing drawings, completing calculations, and interacting with the project team and client. This role requires understanding processes and technical design requirements to ensure drawings meet company and client specifications and standards.
As a Distribution Design Engineer, YOU will:
- Apply sound engineering knowledge of utility engineering principles and practices with training and guidance from other engineers and managers.
- Perform a variety of engineering calculations and tasks to assist in the production of plans, specifications, permits, and other engineering documents.
- Conduct quality assurance audits to ensure all designs follow prescribed processes and meet specifications and quality requirements.
- Communicate clearly with drafters and designers regarding design markups and standards.
- Communicate with the Project Manager about questions, allowable hours, timelines, and any anticipated delays in the project schedule.
YOU are the ideal Distribution Design Engineer candidate if you have:
- A Bachelor of Science (BS) in an engineering field.
- Must have graduated from an ABET-accredited school.
- Must be eligible to sit for the FE and PE exams.
- Hands-on experience using AutoCAD or MicroStation software.
- Prior experience in civil design or pipeline/facilities design with a full understanding of reading civil plans.
- A strong work ethic, self-drive, and a desire to work in a production environment.
- An ability and desire to work and communicate remotely with peers and leadership.
- Unquestioned business and personal integrity.
- Impeccable communication skills, organizational skills, and a high sense of urgency.
- The ability to work independently and in a team environment with an entrepreneurial spirit.
It’s a BONUS if you have:
- Experience with RNG, biogas, and/or hydrogen design.
- Midstream, upstream, storage, and station experience.
