RCS Staffing has an immediate need for a Distribution Field Technician in Oklahoma City, OK. This is a full-time, contract-to-hire, field-based assignment with our client. This position offers a competitive package including benefits, vacation and holidays

Overview of YOUR role as a Distribution Field Technician:

This is an entry-level position in the field technician roles, designed as a training opportunity for potential future roles as a Designer and/or CAD position within the organization. The ideal candidate will be well-organized in actions and written communication, familiar with common software like MS Office Suite and CAD drafting systems (if applicable), and ideally have experience in utility design or line construction. Familiarity with GIS systems and basic data structures is preferred. This role requires a high level of self-motivation and the ability to work independently. Additionally, the incumbent will be required to work in an outdoor environment.

As a Distribution Field Technician, YOU will: 

• Collect field data to update facilities records or prepare design documents.
• Perform tasks such as data collection, measurement, mapping, photography, equipment inventory, and staking under senior staff direction.
• Assist senior employees in the field as a design or staking assistant.
• Promote the company’s core values in interactions with colleagues and clients.
• Follow safety practices and participate in safety initiatives as per the company manual.
• Gather accurate and organized field data using various tools like paper drawings, forms, electronic devices, and cameras.
• Identify and document items in the field with minimal supervision.
• Learn and use new technology tools like data collection units, laser range finders, digital cameras, and GPS devices.
• Accurately record field measurements and data per project specifications.
• Assist with power restoration during natural disasters (e.g., driver, wire sitter, runner).
• Record data using proper standards and symbology for office personnel clarity.
• Meet production targets and understand project deliverables and milestones.
• Travel overnight as required for field assignments.

YOU are the ideal Distribution Field Technician candidate if you have: 

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months- 1yr Experience in utility design, line construction, or GIS systems is preferred.
• Familiarity with MS Office Suite and CAD drafting systems is an advantage.
• Ability to apply technology tools such as GPS devices, data collection units, and digital cameras effectively.
• Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and safety protocols
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work outdoors in various environmental conditions.
