Position Overview:
The Plant Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the engineering and maintenance operations of our manufacturing facility in Tavares, FL. This role requires a hands-on professional with a strong background in engineering principles, plant operations, and maintenance management. The successful candidate will ensure optimal performance and safety of plant equipment and processes while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and manage engineering and maintenance strategies to maximize operational efficiency and reliability of plant equipment.
- Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts to address equipment and process issues.
- Design and implement maintenance programs, including preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize plant operations and support production goals.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Manage capital projects from conception through completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction, implementing solutions in line with industry best practices.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of new equipment and systems.
- Provide technical expertise and training to maintenance staff and production teams.
- Prepare reports and analyses on equipment performance and maintenance activities for management review.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in plant engineering or maintenance management within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in engineering principles, plant equipment, and maintenance management systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
- Excellent project management skills with experience leading cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations and standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and maintenance management systems is a plus.
- Certification in maintenance management (e.g., CMRP, CPMM) is desirable.
