Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer III to join our dynamic team in Owentown, TX. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in AWS and VMware technologies, and will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex systems to support our business operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and system optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and reliable systems infrastructure using AWS and VMware technologies.
- Develop and implement strategies for cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex issues to ensure system efficiency and uptime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement best practices for cloud architecture and system security.
- Manage and optimize AWS resources, including EC2 instances, S3 storage, RDS databases, and VPC configurations.
- Configure and manage VMware environments, including ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and virtual machines.
- Implement and maintain automation tools and scripts to streamline system management and deployment processes.
- Conduct regular system audits, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions for system improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on cloud and virtualization technologies.
- Proficiency in AWS services and solutions, with a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure design and management.
- Strong experience with VMware technologies, including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and load balancing.
- Experience with automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- AWS and VMware certifications are highly desirable.
