Job Title: Controls Technician

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Controls Technician to join our team in Toledo, OH. The Controls Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting control systems to ensure efficient and reliable operation of equipment and machinery. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PLC programming, HMI development, and a strong understanding of electrical and control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Install, configure, and program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces) for new and existing equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of control systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to design and implement control solutions that improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Provide technical support and training to maintenance personnel on control systems.
- Document and update wiring diagrams, schematics, and other technical documentation.
- Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs for control systems.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and advancements in control systems.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Controls Technician or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in PLC programming languages such as Ladder Logic, Function Block, or Structured Text.
- Experience with HMI development and configuration.
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel design.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and Profibus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which may include exposure to noise, dust, and temperature variations.
- Ability to stand, walk, and kneel for extended periods.
