Job Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations within the facility to ensure machinery, equipment, and infrastructure are functioning optimally. This role involves coordinating maintenance activities, supervising maintenance staff, and implementing preventive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians and workers, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and programs to ensure all equipment and systems are operating efficiently.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility, machinery, and equipment to identify potential issues and address them promptly.
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure minimal disruption to production schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and inventory of spare parts.
- Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex maintenance issues, providing technical expertise and support as needed.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to maintenance processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure all maintenance staff are trained and updated on the latest technologies and safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in maintenance supervision, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Proficient in using maintenance management software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automation systems.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Experience in managing vendor relationships and contracts.
Working Conditions:
- This position may require standing, walking, and lifting heavy objects.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and environments.
- May require occasional evening and weekend work to address urgent maintenance issues.
