Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer – Nashville, TN

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer to join a growing consulting team in the Nashville area. This role offers the opportunity to lead and manage complex infrastructure and environmental projects, work directly with clients, and contribute to the development of sustainable waste management and site development solutions.

This position is ideal for experienced engineers who enjoy a mix of project management, technical design, regulatory permitting, and field oversight.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering projects, including delegating tasks and ensuring delivery of project goals, budgets, and profitability.

  • Prepare and review site design elements such as grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, and erosion control.

  • Lead design and permitting for environmental infrastructure including landfills, transfer stations, and recycling facilities.

  • Develop and submit technical reports, permit applications, operating plans, and compliance documentation.

  • Perform field activities including construction observation, data collection, and sampling (air and water).

  • Analyze technical data and implement creative, practical design solutions.

  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and regulatory agencies.

  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design tools for project development.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, or Environmental Engineering (required).

  • 8+ years of professional engineering experience, preferably with environmental or solid waste projects.

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred; EIT certification required.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MS Word, and Excel.

  • Strong technical writing and communication skills, including experience with proposals and reports.

  • Knowledge of hydrological analysis methods such as Rational or SCS preferred.

  • Experience with municipal and/or state agency projects a plus.

  • Ability to travel as needed; valid driver’s license required.
