Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Demand Planner to join our team in St. Louis, MO. The Demand Planner will be responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts by analyzing sales trends, market data, and customer insights. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills to ensure the optimal balance between supply and demand, minimize inventory costs, and support operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts for all product lines using statistical models and business intelligence.
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and customer insights to improve forecast accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment on demand planning strategies.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to demand forecasting accuracy and inventory levels.
- Participate in monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to present demand forecasts and insights.
- Identify and communicate any potential supply chain risks related to demand fluctuations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of demand planning processes and systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance forecast accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain and update demand planning software with current data and assumptions.
- Provide input on inventory strategies and assist in inventory management to minimize excess stock or stockouts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain management.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical forecasting techniques.
- Experience with demand planning software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle is a plus.
- APICS certification (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) is preferred but not required.
