Air Quality – Project Manager / Senior Project Manager

Salary range: $85K–$95K

We are seeking an experienced Air Permitting and Environmental Compliance Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to join a growing Environmental Permitting & Compliance team. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of professional experience in air quality consulting and a proven ability to manage technical work, clients, and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review construction and operating air permit applications in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Perform and review emission calculations.

  • Evaluate applicability of state and federal air quality regulations.

  • Prepare and submit regulatory and routine compliance reports as required.

  • Review and analyze emissions testing results.

  • Develop permitting strategies and pathways for ongoing compliance.

  • Maintain regular communication with clients and regulatory agencies.

  • Conduct site visits for compliance support and data collection.

  • Assist in proposal preparation and business development activities.

  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and relationships with clients, regulators, and vendors.

  • Mentor, train, and manage professional staff.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering (PE preferred).

  • 10+ years in environmental consulting with a strong focus on air quality.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office 365.

  • In-depth understanding of state and federal air permitting processes (NSR, Title V, PSD, NSPS, NESHAP, BACT, etc.).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; effective in client-facing and team environments.

  • Ability to work independently, including in remote settings.

  • Detail-oriented, with proven ability to meet multiple simultaneous deadlines.

  • Experience with other environmental regulatory programs (stormwater, wastewater, waste management, due diligence) is a plus
