Overview:
The Senior Remediation Project Scientist will play a pivotal role in managing and executing environmental remediation projects. This position requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to lead project teams to successfully deliver complex environmental solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage remediation projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects meet technical, regulatory, and client requirements.
- Develop and implement comprehensive remediation strategies and solutions for contaminated sites.
- Conduct site assessments, investigations, and evaluations to determine the extent of contamination and appropriate remedial actions.
- Prepare technical reports, project proposals, and presentations for clients and regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, geologists, and environmental scientists to ensure project success.
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, and resources to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and clients to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior staff, fostering professional development and growth.
- Stay informed of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes in environmental remediation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in environmental remediation, project management, or related areas.
- Proven track record of managing complex remediation projects with successful outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, guidelines, and remediation technologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis, modeling software, and GIS applications.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Professional certifications such as PE (Professional Engineer), PG (Professional Geologist), or PMP (Project Management Professional) are desirable.
